Yokohama, Japan, July 24, 2015 - Australia duo Taliqua Clancy and Louise Bawden claimed their third victory in the Main Draw after their 2-0 (21-14, 21-19) win over Japan's Takemi Nishibori and Sayaka Mizoe in Pool H of the FIVB Yokohama Grand Slam.
The Australian pair are through to the second round on Saturday, by then the pair will be well-rested when they face one of the winning pairs in the first round. Bawden and Clancy are looking for a podium finish in the Yokohama Grand Slam and they are taking the right step after they swept all their matches in pool play.
Bawden/Clancy also won 2-0 (21-13, 21-1) over Pata/Matauatu of Vanuatu on Wednesday, and won 2-0 (21-13, 21-19) over Goricanec/Hüberli of Switzerland.
