Lausanne, Switzerland, April 19, 2015 – The best beach volleyball stars are set to open the 2015 season of the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour with the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Fuzhou Open 2015.
Last year, Italy’s Paolo Nicolai and Daniele Lupo dominated the men’s tournament over Brazil’s Alison Cerutti and Bruno Oscar Schmidt, while the United States’ Kerri Walsh and April Ross captured the women’s title against Brazil’s Juliana Felisberta Silva and Maria Antonelli.
The championship point of the respective men’s and women’s finals ended with a block.
In the men’s tournament, Nicolai/Lupo secured the championship when Lupo got his attack off the block of Alison, while Walsh/Ross clinched gold after Walsh denied Antonelli’s attack with a solid block.
Nicolai/Lupo’s championship point video proved to be more popular among the fans. The video clip has been viewed more than 10,000 times since it was posted on April 16.
