Fort Lauderdale mayor ready for ‘perfect’ event

 
Lausanne, Switzerland, September 20, 2015 – The Mayor of Fort Lauderdale Jack Seiler has promised that the 20 competing teams can expect a “perfect, perfect event,” when they visit the Florida city for the SWATCH FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Finals. 

The event that runs from September 29-October 4 pitches the top eight teams per gender from the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Rankings against one another, along with two wildcard entries. 

The city has been working hard to prepare the venue and let the city know that the world’s best beach volleyball players are heading to town.

“We love to host events here in Fort Lauderdale and welcome the world to Fort Lauderdale,” Mayor Seiler said. “I could not be more pleased with being the host for this event. This is a community that has great volleyball. It is an ideal setting and a perfect, perfect event. You’re going to see great crowds and a fabulous facility.”

The SWATCH World Tour finals will provide a golden way to end a season that has featured the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships, Netherlands 2015, five Grand Slams and four Major Series tournaments and the winners will with a prize purse of $100,000.

“We love having the event here in Fort Lauderdale,” Mayor Seiler added. “We have one of the greatest beaches in the world, so to host this tournament on the beaches here in Fort Lauderdale is fabulous for the city, tremendous for our youth and I am most excited that it will motivate and inspire our youth volleyball players.”
