Prague, Czech Republic, May 20, 2015 - After a close first-set against a Thailand tandem, Russians Olga Motrich and Daria Rudykh advanced to the final qualifying round here Wednesday in the US$75,000 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Prague Open 2015.
Seeded 12th in the competition, Motrich and Rudykh defeated 21st-seeded Khanittha Hongpak and Rumpaipruet Numwong of Thailand 2-0 (26-24, 21-9) in 42 minutes. The Russians now played 28th-seeded Nina Betschart and Nicole Eiholzer as the Swiss upset fifth-seeded Julaluk Radarong and Manerat Udomchavee of Thailand 2-0 (22-20, 21-16) in 39 minutes.
The winner of the Russian/Swiss match advance to Thursday's opening Main Draw rounds in the third women's event on the 2015 FIVB World Tour calendar.
