Prague, Czech Republic, May 20, 2015 - Dutch player Sophie van Gestel reached 9th place at the 2012 London Olympic Games, but took a year off afterwards. Now she is back, with new partner Jantine van der Vlist. Taking that break meant starting all over in qualification.
In Fuzhou the new pair finished 33rd. On Wednesday Van Gestel and Van der Vlist booked a promising 21-12, 21-13 win over Poland's Baran/Gruszczynska in the first qualification round at the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Prague Open 2015.
