A new Canadian pairing, Broder and Pischke were the last qualifying team for the 2017 FIVB World Championships.  Broder will be playing in her third world championships after placing 37th and 17th in the past two editions with Kristina Valjas May.  Pischke’s debut in the world championships was in 2015 with a ninth with Melissa Humana-Paredes.  Broder, who started playing in FIVB-sanctioned events in 2004 and became a regular on the World Tour in 2012, and Valjas May placed ninth in the Rio 2016 Olympic Games after being eliminated by compatriots Heather Bansley and Sarah Pavan.  Broder and Valjas May were the first Canadian women’s team to capture a FIVB World Tour gold medal by topping the 2015 podium in Fuzhou, China.  Pischke started playing in FIVB events in 2012 as she and Humana-Paredes netted two bronze medals together at youth under-23 world championships in 2013 and 2014 with Humana-Paredes.  Pischke’s best finishes at World Tour events are fifths with Humana-Paredes.
