The pair qualified for the 2017 FIVB World Championships via the African continental qualifying rounds. Abicha and Elgraoui will be the second team from Morocco to compete in the FIVB World Championships following an appearance by Ikram Ettayfi and Mahassine Siad in the 2015 worlds where the women’s team placed 37th. Abicha and Elgraoui advanced to the final round of Continental Cup for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games before being eliminated in pool play.
