After posting “impressive” finishes in the Rio 2016 Olympic Games with different partners, Krasilnikov and Liamin are together for the 2017 season and qualified for the FIVB World Championships via their international ranking.  Krasilnikov and Konstantin Semenov placed fourth at the Rio Summer Games while Liamin and Dmitri Barsouk finished fifth as both Russian pairs were eliminated from gold medal contention by Daniele Lupo and Paolo Nicolai of Italy.  While Liamin will be playing in his first world championship with the 2017 season being his third on the FIVB World Tour, Krasilnikov and Semenov placed ninth in the 2015 worlds.  The “new” partnership is paying dividends as Krasilnikov and Liamin have secured FIVB gold medals earlier this season on Kish Island in Iran and at a stop in The Hague.  The pair also dropped a three-set gold medal match to Americans Phil Dalhausser and Nick Lucena at the end of May in Moscow.
