With its riverside location a packed Rothenbaum Stadium will provide a stunning backdrop to the on-court action. The Stadium has already hosted three FIVB beach volleyball tournaments and on all three occasions the atmosphere was pulsating from start to finish.

Hamburg 2019 is the 12th edition of the tournament and there are certain to be new women’s and men’s world champions to succeed Laura Ludwig and Kira Walkenhorst of Germany and Brazil’s Evandro Goncalves and Andre Stein who topped the podium at Vienna 2017.

Walkenhorst was forced to retire through injury so Ludwig will play alongside Margareta Kozuch. Evandro and Andre split in 2018 which means Evandro will play with Netherlands 2015 world champion Bruno Schmidt, while Andre will be in tandem with George Wanderley.
