News Beach volleyball 12/08/2016 Heidrich & Zumkehr post second Olympic win Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, August 11, 2016, - Joana Heidrich and Nadine Zumkehr of Switzerland posted their second Beach Volleyball win at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games here Thursday evening by defeating European Continental Cup qualifiers Jantine van der Vlist and Sophie van Gestel of The Netherlands in three-sets.With the 2-1 (17-21, 21-11, 15-8) Pool E win in 48 minutes over van der Vlist and van Gestel, Heidrich and Zumkehr advance to the 16-team women’s elimination bracket where matches will be played Friday and Saturday. The win was also the Swiss’ third victory in as many international meetings with the Dutch women.The final Pool E match has undefeated Heather Bansley and Sarah Pavan of Canada being challenged by Karla Borger and Britta Buthe of Germany.
