Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, August 13, 2016 – Australia’s Louise Bawden and Taliqua Clancy booked their place in the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympic Games quarterfinals with a 2-1 (15-21, 21-16, 15-11) win over Poland’s Kinga Kolosinska and Monika Brzostek at the Copacabana Beach Arena on Saturday.

Taliqua Clancy, Australia
“I just wanted to be aggressive. I knew I had to be aggressive because they are a really good side. So I knew I had to give it a go and give it my best serve and I was lucky enough that it was a nice little spike too.”
Louise Bawden, Australia
“I’m really, really grateful that Taliqua and I get another opportunity to go out and play for Australia and take one more step in these Olympic Games. I am absolutely thrilled.
"I think it's our time and I think we showed how much heart we have tonight and I can't wait to go out and do it again tomorrow night (versus Kerri Walsh-Jennings and April Ross, USA).”
Monika Brzostek, Poland
“I don’t think our service wasn’t as good in the second and the third as it was in the beginning. It was too bad because we felt we could win this game, but maybe we made too many mistakes on our side.
“Maybe this match and our previous match are food for thought. We have to review all our matches and discuss all our matches with our coach Lukasz (Fijalek) and then we can find some conclusions.
“I think we made huge progress in the last couple of years, so let’s hope we will do it again in the next four years and then we will come back from Tokyo with better results.”
