The Aussies qualified for the 2017 FIVB World Championships via the Asian continental qualifying rounds.  The pair will be competing in their first FIVB World Championships together as both players have previous experience in the event.  McHugh teamed with Isaac Kapa to place ninth in the 2013 and 2015 FIVB World Championships.  Schumann finished 37th with Joshua Court in the 2015 world finals.  McHugh and Schumann topped a FIVB World Tour podium at Shepparton (Australia) earlier this season.  Prior to Shepparton, McHugh’s best FIVB World Tour finish was a 2014 third with Kapa at Klagenfurt, Austria.  McHugh has been playing on the FIVB World Tour since 2007 and Schumann started international competition in 2010.
